Project Description

EMPR offers physical rehabilitation treatment to migrants and refugees, victims of torture and war, now living in Europe. Their work includes a rehabilitation program in order to improve chronic injuries and post-traumatic stress disorders by using acupuncture, physiotherapy, therapeutic massage, and herbal remedies. EMPR provides information on self-care, injury management and, if needed, refers to orthopedic surgeons and psychologists. EMPR works with volunteer therapists as well as with Farsi, Dari, and Arabic translators and interpreters. The interpreters are refugees who are fluent in English. EMPR wants to provide financial support to its employees, in order to offer them paid work and thus support the transition to a new life in Europe.
