Project Description
With a team of Greek and international lawyers, interpreters, legally trained volunteers and founding members, the Legal Centre Lesvos works to defend migrants’ rights. Since August 2016, the Legal Centre Lesvos has been offering free and individual legal advice, legal advocacy and support to migrants who arrive on the Greek island of Lesvos via the Mediterranean Sea. They also work on documenting rights violations, strategic court cases, and do advocacy work to hold the Greek government, European Union member states, and European institutions accountable. They further advocate for equal access to safe and legal escape routes to Greece, Europe and around the world.
This project is supported by the Civilian Sea Rescue Foundation Fund.
